Charleston Come Hell or High Water: A History in Photographs
Published in Paperback by University of South Carolina Press (September, 2002)
Authors: Robert N. S. Whitelaw and Alice F. Levkoff
Average review score:

An excellent way to see Charleston, through pictures
An exciting way to visit the City of Charleston. A city that has survived five major fires, earthquakes, tornadors, cyclones, hurricanes and the 587 day siege of Charleston. Pictures show this proud old lady's struggle to survive during the last 140 years. Wonderful text by Alice Levkoff gives amazing accounts of what was and is Charleston. A pictorial history that shows Charleston is not a sleepy old Southern city.

One of the best information sources available.
Without a doubt, this book is one of the best information sources on Charles Town in the 18th Century available. As a living history interpreter, I am constantly on the lookout for books which fill in minute details for my character. This book provided some of the best base information I've found to date on day to day life and events in the port city. I strongly urge anyone doing living history for characters in SC in this period to read and absorb this work. It's outstanding!

Charleston Needlepoint Peace Angel:Bible Cover;Extra Large
This Bible/book cover is just what you need if you are looking for an attractive and easy to carry book cover.

The tapestry is woven into a very lovely dipiction of an angel proclaiming, "PEACE BE WITH YOU".

A pen/pencil holder is located convieniently, both on the left and right when you unzip and open this cover.

On the outside, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Peace Angel tapestry appears on each side, no matter from which direction you view it. On one side of the outside of this cover, you will find an opening where you can tuck in notes, etc. The opposite side has a protective zippered opening for even more storage of pens, papers, etc.

I'm very pleased with this item, and I would buy from this line again.

"PEACE BE WITH YOU".

You'll appreciate the sturdy, well attatched fabric handle. Your hand easily slips through the loop. It does indeed afford you a firm grip.
